WHAT'S HAPPENING IN MAY 2008?

 Half Day trips to Little Tybee every day. Below is a list of other scheduled activities for you to partake in.

Thursday nights are open house from 6-8pm - all are welcome to browse the store or just hang out.

 

 

 

JULY

 

05    Intro to Sea Kayaking Part 1  9-1 

A great class for anyone thinking about getting a kayak. Basic driving lesson with a few 'comfort' exercises thrown in. Fun and games and good information.

 

06    Intro to Sea Kayaking Part 11  9-1

Building on the foundation of Part 1, our balance and coordination are kicking in and we can now establish better technique. Learn a few more strokes, trip planning essentials such as tide and current, and try the paddle float self-rescue for good measure!

 

10    Gear Swap- Thursday evening 6-8

Bring over your old, used and unused paddling and camping stuff and swap it for something new and shiny

 

12    Intro to Surf Kayaking Part 1 3-7

Start the year wet, because it's only going to get wetter. A basic skill level required. This is a complete beginner class using whitewater and surf  kayaks. The lesson teaches basic control, safety, and surfing skills. A good roll is recommended.

 

 12  Little Tybee Full Day Trip  9-3 

For those wanting to make a day of it... Bring the camera. Bring the binoculars. Picnic lunch included.

 

12   Intermediate Sea Kayaking Part 1  9-1

Getting to grips with edging and  bracing.. basically turning on the style! A few more strokes, some new rescues, and the skill set begins to round out nicely.

 

13   Intermediate Sea Kayaking Part 2  9-1

Taking our foundation skills onto the high seas. Practice launching and landing in beach surf, and other skills to better control your kayak in wind & waves. Also some more rescue practice.

 

13   Sit On Top Kayak Surfing Part 1  1-5

You know you've been dieing to try it!

 

13    Sit-On-Top and Surf Kayak Demo  5-8  FREE! Here's your chance to hit the waves and try something new. All are welcome. Beach at 18th Street - Tybee Island

 

13    Wassaw Island Full Day Trip  8-3

A pretty straight forward paddle to a beautiful piece of the GA Coast. A hike through the forest and back along the beach makes this a 'paddle and hike' trip. Includes picnic lunch on the beach.

19-20 Two Day Navigation work shop with Steve Braden

One day of classroom exercises and information followed by a day of practical on water exercises. Highly Recommended.

31  Lectuer Series - Ben Lawry 6-8
